Photographs by Ansen Seale"My intent is to make narrative garments. A story may be told in words or pictures or implied by symbols and images. I use the many aspects of surface design on cloth to convey a message. The wearer is thus wrapped in layers of meaning. " Designing wearable art and quilts is Caryl's second career. She holds degrees in biology, parasitology and nursing, but now devotes herself full time to fiber art. She has taught workshops in quilting and dyeing and presented art-to-wear trunk shows to numerous guilds and service organizations. Her work has appeared in various fiber-related publications,as well as exhibits in France, Japan and Israel.
